Friends of Children e.V. - The Organisation for Integration
Support for Special Educational Needs, for children in need, disabled and ill children and young people.
In our school project children and young people with disabilities/illnesses get individual support.
We support them when they are at schools and other educational institutions together with non-disabled and healthy young people, as well as children and young people who are at special schools and other institutions for disabled children/young people. Inclusion is very important. Because of this as many schools as possible should practice the inclusion of children and young people with disabilities or illnesses. The teachers in inclusion classes and the other educational institutions do their best to ensure that children and young people with disabilities or illnesses can participate together with all children and young people. That we experience again and again by supporting children with disabilities/illnesses in inclusion classes.
Disabled and ill children further need our support urgently!
We are grateful for your donation.

When ill children come out from hospital, these children often are faced with major problems at home: for example the traumatic experience of the illness, the uncertainty whether the illness will return, problems at school. In this situation, we help ill children to close the "gaps" in the school curriculum, but also especially with art therapy so that they can cope better with all of their problems. If they can be confirm to live in poverty, they receive other support - as far as our resources allow.
Early therapy is very important for disabled children so that they can cope as well as possible in our society. That is why we also, if possible, help disabled children by paying for necessary therapies - as far as our resources allow, if these are not possible by health insurance and the parents of the disabled child cannot pay for the therapy themselves. The same for aids, if multiply disabled children urgently need them and they are not to get by the intitutions of health insurance.

An example of our support for disabled children is the girl Felicia, who has spastic diplegia (paralysis of both legs). We paid for "conductive therapy" (from Hungary) for this child. This is a therapy method with physiotherapeutic, psychological and educational elements. At the beginning of the therapy the child was 4 years old and could only crawl on the floor. During the "conductive therapy" Felicia made excellent progress and was finally able to walk freely without any walking aids.
Felicia's parents wrote us a thank you letter: "With this letter we would like to thank you for the great financial help, without which our daughter Felicia would not have been able to learn her first steps... Felicia is walking more and more independently. And her mental development has also caught up in comparison with children at her age... If you had not given the financial support for the therapy, none of this would have been possible!"
We can only help disabled and ill children as far as our financial situation allows. That is why we are asking for your donation so that we can continue to help these children!

Children, who live in poverty:
There are many children in need - not only in distant countries, but also here in Germany - who urgently need our help.
These are, for example, children whose parents do not look after them. Then there are many families, in which one parent has left the family. Then the other parent is alone with several children. Such single parents with several children are dependent on financial help from employment offices/social welfare offices because
- the single parent has to look after the children, thereby no time for a job.
- the parent who has left the family refuses the financial obligation and does not pay alimony.
As a result the children are in need. Therefore they urgently need our financial support!
In our help for such children in poverty, we work closely with youth welfare offices, but also with other institutions, that ask us for help for needy children.
We always receive letters of thanks for our unbureaucratic help for children in need. One youth welfare office for example wrote: ‘Another year has passed and with your organisation you have given needy children a better start in life’. One of the many letters of thanks from youth welfare offices reads: ‘Once again this year, you have supported children in need quickly and unbureaucratically. Thanks to your help, we were able to fulfil the children's needs and wishes’.
Our help for children in need is extremely important. That we can continue our help for many children in need, we request your donation.
